The Rose & The Dagger by Renee Ahdieh

"From the stars, to the stars"

Sadly, the journey of this book came to an end. I can say I thoroughly enjoyed every chapter, every sentence, every word. I completely fell in love with the characters and flew to another world with Shazi and Khalid.

In a land threatened by war, Shazi finds herself away from her lover but finally reunited with her father and sister. It is Shazi's turn to fight for Khalid, to make everyone see the man whom he truly is the man she fell in love with, it is her chance to break the curse that has entrapped her lover to sleepless nights and converted a boy king into a supposed murderous monster. Shazi embarks in a journey of discovery, learning about her magic and her father's magic. Learning as she goes, that sometimes family can betray her and it is up to her to choose between the love she formed and the supposed love of her father.

The story unravels in such a beautiful and mysterious way. It kept me on edge at every single turn of the page. The character introduced in the first book are more well developed in the ending of this duo logy.
